詹家（65岁）是一名来自巴生的单亲妈妈，本身患有 心脏阻塞和胃病，需要长期吃药来控制病情。平时她 依靠裁缝衣服来过活，一个月大 约赚取200令 吉，有时候 也会帮别人拔公鱼仔来贴补家用。她与先夫一共育有四个 儿女，老公在2002年 出海钓鱼时发生意外，掉进海里 溺毙而去世了。不过，据詹家 说老公还在世时也没有做好父亲和丈夫的角色，不但没有好好照顾家庭，更没有给予任何家用。

大女儿 和小女儿都已经结婚，各自有自己的家庭生活，但只能自 给自足，没有办法津贴母亲的生活费。

大儿子（40岁） 黄永清 目前跟母亲住在一起，由于他的 学历不高，所以一直 以来都是做建筑散工为生，收入非常的不稳定。

小儿子（38岁） 黄永强 也步哥哥后尘做建筑散工，只是比较可怜的他在十 年前骑莫多去上班时发生了交通意外，造成脊椎 骨受损而无法再工作，而且也没有保险赔偿。黄永强 目前由太太照顾，他们育 有四名孩子，一家四 口租一间公寓来居住。太太在娱 乐场所从事兑 换筹码的工作，来维持家里的生 计，加上工 作忙碌的关系，詹家也得帮忙照顾孙子。 有时詹家甚至必须帮补他们的家用。

詹家与 大儿子目前所居住的地方是家婆留下来的组屋，屋子已经非常破旧和脏 乱，除了逢下 雨天会淹水之外，房间的屋顶也已经被白蚁侵蚀，接近快要 倒塌的感觉。詹家是用 旧衣服和塑胶袋来钉盖住墙上的破洞，而且家门的门框 也已经损坏了，因此他们 只是用一个玻 璃碗来顶住门背才能“关 门”，但在晚上 的时候其实非常危险，陌生人只要轻轻推开就可以进去家里了。

南洋报业基金决定为詹家重建和修补家园，并于1月7日 （星期一）就开始动工，重建工程包括：

1. 拆卸旧墙
2. 安装石墙
3. 安装钢制窗口
4. 安装窗口
5. 胶合板天花板
6. 木制天花板
7. 更换损坏的木屋顶
8. 在屋子前面安装石壁
9. 安装钢门框
10. 安装门烧烤
11. 安装夹板门
12. 拆卸建筑废物

总费用： RM24,230



除此之外，南洋报业基金将于 本月1月27日 （星期日）早上九点半，联同中国报5心 车队、ASTRO 本地圈、牛头牌特工队、 博爱辅导中心、嘉玉贸易有限公司、宝贝阅读乐园、JULIE’S, SUPER， 各赞助商以及【16导 航】的志工们， 将第九场的【16导 航】温馨探访移动到巴生为詹家粉刷屋子以及美化家园。除此之外，【16导 航】义工们 以及博爱老师在当天将会邀请近邻参与户外的心灵游 戏，拉近彼此的关系。户外场地也设有许多摊位，包括：南洋报业基金【16导 航】流动诊所，Ajinomoto蘑 菇汤、嘉玉贸易有限公司现场派送蛋 卷、牛头牌的赠饮果汁等等。

Chiam Keh (65 years old) is a single mother living in Klang. She suffers from heart disease and gastric, and has to depend on medication to control her chronic diseases. Chiam Keh works as a dressmaker to earn a living; she manages to earn approximately RM200 per month. Occasionally, Chiam Keh would help others to clean anchovies in order to earn extra income. Chiam Keh and her late husband have four children. Sadly, her husband drowned at sea while out fishing one day. Yet Chiam Keh said that her husband had not played his part well as a husband or a father, as he had never taken care of the family.

Chiam Keh’s eldest daughter and youngest daughter are married, living with their own families. Her daughters are unable to provide extra income for Chiam Keh. Her eldest son, Wong Yong Qing (40 years old), is currently staying with her. Due to the fact that Wong Yong Qing is not highly educated, he could only work as a temporary construction worker and has unstable income.



Chiam Keh’s youngest son, Wong Yong Keong (38 years old), followed his eldest brother footstep; Wong Yong Keong worked as a construction worker too. Unfortunately ten years ago, he met with an accident whilst driving his motorcycle to work. The accident had injured his spine badly, causing him unable to work. Moreover there was no insurance coverage for him. Wong Yong Keong’s wife has been taking care of him and the family rents a small apartment to stay in; they have four children in total. His wife works in the entertainment industry to earn a living. As his wife is busy with her work, Chiam Keh would help to take care of her grandchildren as well as support the family financially.

Chiam Keh and her eldest son stay in a house inherited by her mother-in-law. The house is shabby and dirty, and would be flooded during rainy days. The rooftop has also been infested by termites and looks close to collapsing anytime soon. Chiam Keh uses old clothes and plastic bags to cover holes on the wall. The door frame of the house is damaged and they need to use a glass bowl to withstand the back of the door so that they can close the door. In fact, the door can be dangerous too, as strangers can easily push away the door to enter their house.

Therefore, Yayasan Nanyang Press wishes to repair Chiam Keh’s house. The construction work will be starting on 7th January 2013 (Monday) which will include:-

1. Demolition of the old wall
2. Construction of a new stone wall
3. Installation of steel windows
4. Installation of windows
5. Plywood ceiling
6. Wooden ceiling
7. Replacement of damaged rooftop
8. Construction of a new stone wall right in front of her house
9. Installation of steel door frame
10. Installation of grill door
11. Installation of plywood door
12. Demolition of any construction waste

Total cost: RM24,230



The 9th visitation will be held on 27th January 2013 (Sunday) at 9.30 a.m. Yayasan Nanyang Press together with China Press “5 Hearts”, ASTRO, Buffalo, Agape Counselling Centre, Jasper Promenade, BaoBei Reading Wonderland, JULIE’S, SUPER, various sponsors and not to forget the Volunteers of the [16 Navigators] will be heading to Klang to repair and beautify Chiam Keh’s house. Additionally, the Volunteers of the [16 Navigators] and the Counsellors from Agape Counselling Malaysia will organise various activities on that day for the neighbourhood to enhance their relationships. There will be different stalls set up in the neighbourhood such as the Yayasan Nanyang Press [16 Navigators] Mobile Clinic, Ajinomoto Mushroom Soup, Jasper Promenade Egg Rolls and complimentary BUFFALO drinks.
