People who are not satisfied with what they have tend to focus on the dark side of life. On the other hand, people who are content can always find happiness in their lives even when in adversity. Happiness is omnipresent if we learn to be content and thankful. This year, Yayasan Nanyang Press continues to uphold this philosophy by organising the 4th Gratitude and Contentment Charity Luncheon for Elderly and Orphans at Unique Seafood Damansara Restaurant & Banquet on 15 November 2015. We hope people can learn to be content and thankful through this opportunity to meet with people who are less fortunate. We are glad to have Nanyang Siang Pau, China Press and Life Magazines as our media partners, Baobei Reading Wonderland as co-partner, Noodle Shack as sponsor and Unique Seafood Restaurant as supporting partner for this event.

Yayasan Nanyang Press will be inviting 100 orphans from various orphanage homes, 100 elderly from old folks home and 200 people from the community to join this charity luncheon. With purchase of one lunch ticket worth RM100, the public is required to sponsor one elderly or orphan for this charity luncheon by purchasing one more sponsoring ticket at RM100.

At the luncheon, donors will be seated with the elderly or orphan they sponsored for and get to know each other. This make their generous support more meaningful. Besides, if the public would like to make some contribution for their living expenses or education fee, they can liaise with the person in charge of that particular orphanage home or old folks home personally. Donors will also exchange gifts with their sponsored elderly or orphan.

Dato Lai Meng (16 Navigators Ambassador of Gratitude) and Mr Chris Lay (16 Navigators Ambassador of Humility) will be invited as celebrity guests for this meaningful afternoon.

The main objective of the [Gratitude and Contentment Luncheon for Elderly and Orphans] is to educate the people to be grateful and be thankful in their life. Through the interaction with the elderly and the orphans, donors will learn to treasure the happiness in their family. The elderly and the orphans will also be appreciative and grateful for the public’s contribution. Everyone has the power to make others happy no matter how small the contribution.

Therefore, Yayasan Nanyang Press hopes this event can bring love and warmth to all attendees and continue sharing these virtues with others. Happiness only comes to people who are content and thankful always.

不知足者，往往会忽视自己身边所有拥有的，放大心中的悲情，自然就感觉不到幸福；知足者，日子虽苦，但在苦日子当中也有甜之味，幸福也伴随在身 旁，这就是老话所说的「知足常乐」。我们要学会知足，并心存感恩，这样幸福就会伴随在我们左右。南洋报业基金秉持着过去的精神，今年11月15日在奇怪海鲜续办《第四届孤儿老人知足感恩午宴》， 让幸福的人与不幸福的人共聚在一堂，以知足感恩的心渡过美好的一天。本次媒体合作伙伴为南洋商报、中国报及生活杂志，同时南洋报业基金也将 邀请宝贝阅读乐园为合作伙伴。面粉居将为午宴赞助商，奇怪酒家为支持伙伴。

南洋报业基金将邀请100位 来自不同单位的孤儿院孤儿，100位生活贫苦或来自老人院的老人，和200位 的社会人士共聚。今年和往年的概念相同，让大众每买一张票就需要再赞助一张票给孤儿/老 人，买两张票就需要另购两张赞助票，以此类推。此次《孤儿老人知足感恩午宴》一本午餐捐固本为10张， 共RM1000，单张餐捐为RM100。

当天午宴，大众和他们所赞助的孤儿老人可以坐在一起，彼此认识，彼此交流，这样的捐助会比一般来得更有意义。 因为感恩，所以团聚；因为团聚，所以更能了解对方的喜怒哀乐，更能了解他们真正需要的是什么。除此之外，如果大众想要继续帮助他们，捐助 他们将来的生活费或学费的话，也可以联络该老人院或孤儿院的负责人了解详情。 每位出席者都必须带随一份礼物。赞助者将与老人孤儿们交换礼物。

《孤儿老人知足感恩午宴》最主要想要传达感恩的讯息，让不幸和幸福的人聚在一起彼此认识，彼此学习，例如：幸福的小孩认识了孤儿，就会懂得珍惜当 下感恩父母；孤儿认识了幸福的家庭，就可以感受亲人的温暖；幸福的社会人士遇见这些孤儿老人，就能为他们贡献服务；当孤儿老人遇见这些赞助者，也 懂得凭自己那渺小的力量写感谢卡，对他们表示感激。换句话说，每个人都拥有贡献和服务的能 力，即使那份心意再微小，都可以让周围的人开心。

南洋报业基金衷心的希望透过这场午宴，让这份温暖传达给每一位出席者。让孤儿与老人可以感受社会的关怀，让他 们在心灵上也能得到一些安慰，同时也让社会人士回到生活当中继续传达知足与感恩的心态给身边的人。只有懂得知足的人才会感到幸福；只有懂 得感恩，才能见苦知福。
