It was shocking news to the Chen family when they learned that their eldest daughter, Chen Jiao Shi, is having unusual blood type and causing her body to unable to produce protein that leads to Chondropathy and weak spinal cord. As a result, Jiao Shi is unable to sit, to stand, to walk or to do any other activities that involve movements. Seeing this situation, Mr. Chen and his wife decided to give birth to another child, hoping that their second child would be the ordinary one; they too hoped that their second child could in the future be responsible for taking care of them and most importantly, Jiao Shi. Unfortunately, the second son was diagnosed, upon delivery, having the same unusual blood type that Jiao Shi has. Sadly, their younger son is facing the same problem as their eldest daughter. Being despair and desperate, Mr. Chen and his wife decided not to plan for another child but would try every possible ways to cure and take care of their two children.

Mr. Chen claimed that the family was being optimistic about their children. He noted that Jiao Shi is better than his younger son as Jiao Shi is able to go to school with the help of a tailoring chair; unlike his younger son would feel uneasy all the times that stops him from going to school. Mr. Chen added that his son is eagerly and wants to go to school like any other kids. Knowing that, Mr. Chen would spend some quality time of him with his younger son to teach him and also to buy some educating materials for him. Mr. Chen, being a responsible father, loves to travel around with the family. Even though he knows that considerable effort needed for them to bring along Jiao Shi and his younger son, he never fails to do so and he enjoys travelling with his children. “Seeing their smiles is a blessing to me” said Mr. Chen.

Mr. Chen is only earning a meagre salary every month. In the morning, he would drive a lorry and in the evening, he works as a technician helping to repair audio systems. But these earnings do not suffice to pay off all the medical bills and necessary expenses for both children. The expenses for physiotherapy alone have taken up half of his salary and the remaining could not support the whole family. Subsequently, Mrs. Chen was forced to work in order to generate more income to support the family, leaving the two children to their elderly to look after.
Mr. Chen hopes that there are donations from the public to assist him in taking care of his two children. Yayasan Nanyang Press, hereby, urges any supporting readers to give them a helping hand.
